Damon Johnson started his career from the very beginning. He began to sing and entertain people in Pat Upton’s Guntersville bar, P.J.’s Alley, with the band headline.
Musician Damon Johnson migrated to Birmingham, Alabama in 1987 as a result of an invitation to join Split the Dark, an established band formed by a former member of the power-pop group Hotel. Johnson, a Thin Lizzy fan since seeing them play in 1979, covered the band’s song “Borderline” for his debut solo release, Dust, released in 2000. Johnson accepted the opportunity and toured the world with Thin Lizzy until early 2013 with Cooper’s approval.
